Clarinettist of the Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine, Professor at the Conservatoires de Paris (CMA 18)
A multi-faceted artist, Céline Millet shares her daily life between the orchestra, chamber music and teaching. Initiated to the clarinet by Aude Richard-Camus at the Rouen Conservatory, she receives throughout her career advice from Michel Arrignon, Paul Meyer, Calogero Palermo and Stanley Drucker. She studied in the class of Nicolas Baldeyrou at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse (CNSMD) of Lyon, where she was first named in 2015. Young artist of the Verbier Festival Orchestra, she is now a member of the prestigious Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine (Paris) and performs regularly in other renowned orchestras such as the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Paris, the Orchestre de Paris, the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra or the National Orchestras of Lyon, Lille and Strasbourg.
Her ease with the different clarinets, from the small clarinet to the bass clarinet, makes her a sought-after musician. His passion for ensemble music leads him to perform on the most beautiful stages: Carnegie Hall in New York, Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Konzerthaus, City of Music and Bercy in Paris, Philharmonic Hall in Bratislava, Opera in Hanoi, Romanian Athenaeum and Palace Hall in Bucharest, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg... She plays under the direction of the greatest chefs: Philippe Jordan, Valery Gergiev, Mikko Franck, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Daniel Harding, Emmanuel Krivine, Leonard Slatkin, Fabio Luisi, Cristian Macelaru, Antonio Pappano, Klaus Mäkelä...
Committed to contemporary creation, Céline Millet has participated in the creation of many works by composers such as Thierry Escaich, J.F Neuburger, Lisa Heute and Philip Glass. She regularly collaborates with the Ars Nova Ensemble and performs in several contemporary music festivals such as the ManiFeste Festival (IRCAM) or the Festival Présences (Radio France). Passionate about pedagogy, she has been teaching the clarinet since 2011, with a style whose demand and uniqueness are praised. She was appointed professor at the Gustave Charpentier Conservatory in Paris in 2018. Noted teacher, she is successively trainer at CEFEDEM of Normandy and member of many juries including the entry competition at the CNSMD in Lyon in 2024. She is regularly asked to give Masterclasses in Paris and abroad. Based on these successes, she runs during the 2023-2024 season an Academy for young professional clarinettists in partnership with the Showroom Buffet Crampon in Paris. Céline Millet is also the author of the book Le pouvoir du minimalisme, published by Eyrolles in 2024. She plays the clarinets Buffet Crampon «Légende» in mopane.
