Paula Corley

Paula Corley is currently the Education Advisor for Buffet Crampon North America, where she assists with development and implementation of educational outreach programs. She is the author of “So You Want to Play the Clarinet", "The Break" and five arranged works for clarinet and piano (published by Southern Music) and clarinet choir (published CAMCO.)

Paula is a Buffet Crampon and Vandoren Clarinet artist and serves as a chamber music clinician for the Music for All National Festival and for Texas University Interscholastic League competitions at the state level. She has 33 years of teaching experience at the secondary and collegiate levels in Texas and North Carolina. Paula has presented and performed at many state and national music conferences and festivals throughout the United States.

While at Mars Hill College, Paula served as Principal Clarinetist in the Asheville (NC) Lyric Opera for five seasons. At Texas Lutheran University Paula taught applied clarinet and music education classes for nine years. She served as Pedagogy Chair for The International Clarinet Association from 2018 to 2020 and her articles have appeared in The Clarinet, Texas Bandmasters Review, The Instrumentalist, and WAVE (www.dansr.com).

Her YouTube channel has 34 instructional videos for the developing clarinetist that are also available on her website www.clarinetcity.com. Paula is a graduate of Mississippi State University (BME) where she was named Music Alumnus of the Year in 2012-13, and Southern Methodist University (MM). Paula has three recorded works: Windfall and Unfamiliar Territory for solo clarinet by Michael Markowski, and Road Trip for clarinet quintet by Clifton Jones.
