Conductor Charles Dutoit praised that Dai Le's performance was "exquisitely beautiful and that he is an absolutely outstanding world-class performer" after two blockbuster performances with master pianist Argerich and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, Dai Le's performance with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra in Edinburgh as part of its world tour was highly praised by the Herald as "the perfectly balanced performance of the principal clarinet and the soloist is a perfect match". In 1999, he was admitted to the High School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music and studied under Professor Tao Chunxiao. In 2004, he entered the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music of the National University of Singapore with outstanding grades and received a full scholarship. He studied under Ma Yue, who is the principal clarinetist of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. During the time, he was selected to study at the Pittsburg Conservatory of Music at Johns Hopkins University as one of the school's first batch of outstanding students with full scholarships for exchange in the United States. Dai Le also won the first place in solo clarinet competition in Singapore and the second place in chamber music in 2007. At the end of the year, Dai Le's performance in wind quintet won the silver medal in the wind section of the 9th Asian Chamber Music Competition in Bangkok, Thailand.
From 2011 to 2013, Dai Le studied at the University of Theater and Performance Graz (Austria), and furthered his studies under Stefan Schilling, the principal clarinet of the Bavarian Radio Orchestra in Germany. In 2013, Dai Le received his Master's degree with outstanding grades (Konzertexamen mit Ausgezeichnung). As an outstanding young clarinetist active on the international stage, Dai Le participated in many performances with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and the Macau Orchestra during the period from 2005 to 2008, and worked in the China Philharmonic Orchestra from 2008 to 2011. During his time at China Philharmonic Orchestra, he performed many chamber music concerts and participated in many recordings of music for TV series and movies, which were well received. In 2013, Dai Le was invited to take the role as principal clarinet at the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra. During her tenure at Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, she was invited to give master classes and hold solo concerts in various schools on many occasions. In 2014, Dai Le was invited to participate in the European tour of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra as guest principal clarinet.
In 2016, Dai Le returned to China and worked as deputy principal clarinet at Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and joined Ensemble Les Amis Shanghai Friends Chamber Music Society. In the same year, he recorded Professor Chen Xiaoyong's album "Xin xiang" with ELA, which was published by the European collegeno record company. The record won the Best Record in the Contemporary Music Performance Category of the German Record Critics’ Award in the second quarter of 2018, which is sponsored by the Association German Record Critics’ Awards. And Shanghai Friends Chamber Music Society Ensemble Les Amis won the Best Artist award.
